Fact or fiction?
In the Acknowledgements, Tell Me Lies is described as being 'based
on a true story.' Tony Strong quotes from an article that appeared
about the crime in The Burlington Magazine - but no such article
was ever published. He also mentions that one of his characters,
'Alice Turnbull', is still serving with the Met as a Sexual Offences
Officer under her real name and that she is currently on maternity
leave, thanking her for her help with the book. At the time of publication,
there were no Sexual Offences Officers on maternity leave.
TV adaptation
Tell Me Lies was bought for TV by Granada and is scheduled for
broadcast in 2004.
